Proguard und Windows - und ganz eigene Fehlermeldungen
Nun bin ich dabei, eine Eclipse RCP-Applikation zu exportieren. Und dabei wird sie mit obfuscate4e und dem eingebauten Proguard-Obfuskator verarbeitet. Ich sitze an einem Windows-PC und bekomme Fehlermeldungen, die ich zuvor (beim Produktexport unter Linux) nicht kannte: ClassNotFoundExceptions in obfuskierten Packages.

Heute kam eine interessante – und gleichzeitig gefährliche – Mail mit dem Betreff "Important update from Microsoft Windows XP/2003 Professional Service Pack 2 (KB946026)" rein. Absender war angeblich der Microsoft Update-Service.
Launch4j - ein leichtgewichtiger Java-Starter für Windows
Gerade habe ich ein wenig mit Launch4j (http://launch4j.sourceforge.net/) experimentiert. Es ist ein (sehr leichtgewichtiger) Wrapper für Jar-Aufrufe, d.h. es verpackt ein Jar in einer ausführbaren Windows-Datei (exe), wobei man einige sinnvolle Einstellungen vornehmen kann, z.B.:

I’m running a (single) Windows 2003 server. Recently I logged into this machine to see how it works and was greeted by the Update dialog box and it’s message that I could upgrade to Internet Explorer 7 on this machine.
I felt it was a good idea, because a I did hope that upgrade would remove some security annoyances of IE under Windows Server 2003.
PortableApps: The right app at the right place
While sitting in the Oracle training I missed a convenient working environment (The computer runs Win2k and the only app is a Internet Explorer 6.0!). Fortunatly I just bought an 2GB USB stick to install some stickware some time – and now I have a use case to do it now.
